The Trail to Maine is a game where you play as a refugee in the far future, escaping the drought-ridden South-West in hopes of a new life in the well-hydrated Maine.  Because you don't own a car, you'll need to bike the treacherous path to Maine.   Can you survive the dangerous journey?

This game was created in a 48-hour timespan for the 2020 HW Game Jam, with the theme of Running out.  The Windows port happened after the initial 48 hours.

How to Play

Use the mouse to use buttons.

Keep track of your energy and water stats, as it is dangerous to run out of them.  With zero energy, you die.  How fast you travel, how much water you drink, and the current weather all are factors for how quickly you deplete your energy.  Of course, if you rest, you can regain some of that energy.  To regain water, one must forage their surroundings for the resource.
